One of my absolute favorite things to do when I am getting to know someone is learning quirky things about them that make them who they are. So, I am going to make a list of these things for you all to hopefully get to know me better.
- I am a red-head and I love it. It took me a long time to appreciate my unique hair color. I do like to add some darker tones and some lighter, but I will never completely take away the red. I really feel like it is something that I can identify myself with.
- I prefer homemade spaghetti to pretty much any other meal ever. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner (and I have)! I have actually written papers for school all about my love for spaghetti and bolognese sauce. No kidding, I am actually passionate about this!
- My favorite colors are blush pink and grey. And yes, they were my favorite even before the fad, although it did make decorating my house a lot easier for me. I love the subtle kindness of the colors, it’s hard to see pastel pink and be angry. Likewise, grey is a color that can fit any mood and feeling. I am a huge believer in surrounding yourself in a good atmosphere for your own productivity and ambiance.
- I am a recent dog mama to a large red fox lab, Yeller. And he has in fact become the only thing I could compare to a “Mom Unconditional Love”. He can be doing anything and somehow it is cute to me, my poor snapchat friends probably secretly hate me. Yeller is a hunting dog and Hunter (my boyfriend) likes to remind me that he is supposed to be a tough stud, but I continue to switch his collar back to a bow tie that matches his couch (yes, my dog has his own couch). I don’t think I am capable of loving his fuzzy-sheddy butt any more.
- I absolutely love shopping! For anything and everything, I just love looking at new things and finding inspiration outside of the internet (although, I totally shop online too). There is something just plain fun about seeing new creations and learning about new brands that you might really like. One of my favorite stores is T.J.Maxx! They have such a variety of brands and sections, I could seriously spend all day there! I feel like I am always looking for a good deal for great quality and that is 100% the place to be for that! As far as online shopping, Amazon is definitely my go-to option. You can find literally anything on there, and there is no beating the 2-day shipping and all the prime benefits! ( If anyone wants to know any of my favorite items from either of these places let me know in the comments!)
- My F.N.D. has caused me to be rather ‘picky’ about the kinds of clothes I can wear without being horribly uncomfortable to the point that I can’t function. This is kinda sucky because like I said before I love shopping, which means I probably have more clothes than I really need… So, now on any given day you will most definitely see me in leggings/joggers (jeans=bad) and some sort of comfortable shirt and cardigan/sweater pairing. In some ways, this specific issue has actually benefited me. I have been forced to become more versatile with my style, and although, circumstances aren’t ideal, it is always good to broaden your view.
- My birthday is May 20th. I am not really a huge believer in the zodiac signs or what they really mean. However, I am a huge believer in birth-weeks. Yep, I have a birth-week, not a birthday. This started when I was pretty young because my parents are divorced, so I wouldn’t always get to celebrate with family on my real birthday or even the immediate surrounding days. It was a kind of light-hearted way to handle it and it stuck! Even now that I am an adult I celebrate my birth-week. I think it’s good to have a time where it can be all about you and you can harmlessly put yourself first.
- I have seen every episode of One Tree Hill about 6 maybe 10 times. No shame. Oh and also Gossip Girl, probably about 5 times over. That’s healthy right? Yep, no shame. I will most likely continue this addiction and hopefully I will someday be able to recite both series word for word.
- I am very empathetic and my views are oddly well rounded. I go to extreme lengths to make sure that I try to see things from everyone’s point of view. Even when it is really hard or someone hurts my feelings I really try to see things from that person’s perspective. Although it hasn’t always helped me, I don’t want to change this part about me. I honestly would rather see the good in people than constantly question humanity and think the worst of people.
- My biggest goal in life is to be the absolute best version of myself that I can possibly be. Even when my F.N.D. is making it so hard to want to be better, I want to keep fighting to be happy.
