Intro to self-love

If you know me personally, you know that I am fairly vocal about self-worth and confidence. Every single day, whether on social media or in real life, I see so many young adults being afraid to be who they are because this world is so cruel. There are people who will do anything to make themselves feel better, including making others feel like they aren’t worth anything at all.

So I am writing this to the girl or guy who has someone or multiple people telling them what they are worth. I am telling you that you are worth the world. You do not have to let their words be your self-talk. You are strong enough to leave toxicity behind you, and get better for yourself.

The person who makes you feel like you are less than, they don’t deserve to have someone at all, not until they realize they are also worth more than dragging everyone down to feel better about not taking control of their life. Absolutely no one deserves to be consistently belittled, made to feel dumb or helpless. You do not have to be stuck.

But, you do have to be strong. You have to want better and then do everything you can to get it. You must push past the surface feelings and release the pureness of being truly happy. I know that fighting the narrative that you have most likely heard for years, will be incredibly difficult, but I believe that you can do it. That is not to say that it will be an instant change and once it’s over it won’t hurt anymore.

The hardest part of learning your worth is that you have to learn to love the things about yourself, that you have spent so much time learning to hate.

So here is what I am going to do. I will make my self-love journey into a segment on my blog, and I will make some of my self-love journey public. Because at the end of the day I want to help people, in any way I can. I hope that whoever is reading this takes at least one thing away from this, there will always be struggles in life, but the way you chose to react to them is up to you, and only you. Don’t let anyone write the script to your story.
